David Marschke, Principal
David is a specialist tax and legal adviser who acts for listed and private corporate groups, and their owners, in all areas of tax and related law. David has been involved in a wide range M&A transactions assisting listed and unlisted entities and has significant expertise dealing with tax effective business restructures and exits. He is a specialist adviser on trust law and taxation of trusts including MITs as well as family succession issues and estate planning.
In addition, David has significant experience assisting taxpayers and their advisers in dispute matters including tax reviews, audits and complex tax negotiations, and settlements with the ATO and the State revenue offices.
Prior to founding DBM Horizons, David was:
- a tax partner at Mills Oakley and McCullough Robertson
- the head of the Brisbane office of KPMG Legal and Tax and the national lead of tax law for M&A, corporate and financial services
David is a regular speaker for professional bodies and is consistently recognised in Doyles’ Guide and by his peers in Best Lawyers listings.
A Legal Practitioner, Registered Tax Agent, Chartered Tax Adviser and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, David is also a director of a Brisbane-based mining company.

Belinda Marschke, Principal
Belinda has extensive experience in both tax and accounting including inhouse and in client facing roles in accounting and legal firms as well as inhouse finance roles in various industries.
Her various roles leading the Finance functions of medium and large proprietary companies has provided her with a deep understanding of the financial risks facing privately owned corporations and their owners including corporate governance, regulatory requirements and the financial and business drivers.
Belinda’s client facing roles in accounting firms, and her in-house roles in law firms, have provided her with extensive experience in leading and managing professional services practices including providing advisory services to start up law practices.
Prior to founding dbm horizons she:
- had over 15 years working in Big 4 accounting firms
- Was the head of the Expatriate and Employment taxes practice in Brisbane of a Big 4 accounting firm
- a Chief Financial Officer of a mid-size law firm.
Belinda is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Registered Tax Agent.
